Mix cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in large bowl.
Stir wet ingredients into dry ingredients until just combined.
Fold in chopped cracklins.
Carefully remove hot skillet from oven and pour in batter.
Bake 20-25 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
Let cool 5 minutes, then slice and serve warm with butter.
