Ingredients
ShopInstructions
Soak chicken pieces in buttermilk for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Mix flour with all spices in a large shallow dish.
Remove chicken from buttermilk, letting excess drip off.
Dredge each piece thoroughly in seasoned flour.
Carefully place chicken in hot oil, skin side down. Don't overcrowd.
Fry 12-15 minutes per side until golden brown and internal temp reaches 165°F.
Drain on a wire rack over paper towels.
Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
Chef's Comfy Tip
The secret to crispy chicken is maintaining oil temperature - don't rush it, and fry in batches if needed to keep that oil hot.
