- 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup raisins
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1/2 cup butter (for sauce)
- 1 cup sugar (for sauce)
- 1 egg, beaten (for sauce)
- 1/4 cup bourbon
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Place bread cubes in dish.
Stir in raisins and melted butter.
Let soak 15 minutes, then bake 45-50 minutes until set.
For sauce: melt butter with sugar in saucepan.
Remove from heat and stir in bourbon.
Serve warm bread pudding with bourbon sauce.
Chef's Comfy Tip
Day-old bread works best - it soaks up the custard without getting too mushy. Fresh bread can make the pudding soggy.
